What is your proudest moment as a Publix associate?
Being promoted to vice president in 2017. As I left the promotion meeting, I went to the nearest conference room and sat quietly as I thought about my family, all the Publix associates who had come before me and those who had invested in me.
What’s your advice to someone just starting their career at Publix?
Look across our great company and learn as much as you can about the many positions we have at Publix. Set goals and work hard to accomplish them. We all are here to help associates grow and continue to be successful.
What is your most interesting task as vice president of human resources?
Mr. George once said the most important ingredient in our success is our associates. Our human resources team impacts the lives of all applicants and associates, from recruitment to retirement. We work to strengthen relationships and pass on our Publix culture of opportunity, advancement, ownership, compassion and service. I am honored to have an opportunity to invest in associates as others have invested in me. My goal is for all 225,000+ associates to truly feel the heart of Publix, to treasure this wonderful company of ours and pass it on to the next generation better than it is today.
