Donna began her Publix career in 2002 as an intern in human resources. After her internship, she was hired as a senior training developer. In 2003, Donna transferred to selection systems and was promoted to manager of selection and performance management in 2005. She was promoted to her current position in 2013.

New York

What did you want to be when you were little?
A psychologist or a teacher

What brought you to Publix?
I always knew about Publix’s reputation. While finishing up school, I heard about an internship opportunity and didn’t hesitate. When I got here, I knew it was a perfect fit.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy focusing on how to develop people and promote from within. We have so many talented associates with great ideas, and I love building programs and strategies to help them reach their career goals.

Publix Premium Cookies and Cream Frozen Yogurt

Dubliners by James Joyce

What’s your guilty pleasure?
A big pasta dinner!

What do you enjoy most about working at Publix?
I love the excitement people have when I tell them I work for Publix. There’s a lot of pride being a part of this great company.

What’s your favorite Publix memory?
Shortly after I was promoted to my current position, I had the chance to attend a 20-year Service Award dinner with two of my associates. I was blown away listening to the history and stories of the associates being honored.

What’s your proudest moment?
Being promoted to manager for the first time. The manager who held the position before me was wonderful, and having the opportunity to fill her shoes made me very proud. It was scary but exciting at the same time.

What’s your work or life philosophy?
Operate with reason and purpose. If you know why you’re doing something, you’ll know whether you’re doing it well and what changes need to be made.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Anything with my son and husband (and dog). We love to ride bikes and visit the park.
