See the greatness of imagination through children’s eyes

Mark your calendar — this year’s Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day will be held Thursday, April 28.

Join in on this fun event by bringing your child to work. This year’s theme — Sparking Aha! Moments — is meant to encourage imagination and new ideas, and inspire children to dream big and work hard. They will be able to witness firsthand your job and learn a little more about Publix’s mission — to be the premier quality food retailer in the world. Children will be asked to show what they learned by participating in Publix News’ annual contest. Middle and high school students are asked to write a brief essay (150 – 200 words) detailing what they think makes Publix a premier grocery store. Elementary students are asked to draw a picture depicting what they love most about Publix.

Please submit essays on lined paper, using black or blue ink. Drawings should be on an 8 ½-by-11-inch sheet of unlined, white paper. On the back of the entry (in pencil), please include the child’s name and age, and your name, job class, and store number or department name. Please do not use a store stamp. Entries must be received by May 6 for consideration and will not be returned.

Children can work on their entries during the day of their visit, and the best entry and runner-up in each category will receive a prize pack and could be featured in an upcoming issue of Publix News. Send entries through company mail or U.S. mail to:
