Why we invest in associates

Todd Jones, CEO & President

Investing in our associates is the most important thing we can do. But why is it so important?

For Publix to win the battle over our competition, we need to have the best associates. Our past CEOs — Mr. George, Howard Jenkins, Charlie Jenkins Jr. and Ed Crenshaw all knew it.

Our uniqueness. Our value proposition. It’s our people who keep our customers coming back. Our mission statement focuses on customer value, and for us that means our customers can buy high-quality products at great prices, all with customer service you can’t find anywhere else.

We can stand behind that value because investing in you is key for our success. We believe
growing and developing our associates is so important that it’s part of our strategy.

Our competitors may try to copy our services, but no one can duplicate our people. Publix
associates are special. You know your customers. You know our values. You spread our culture. You make the difference, and I look forward to continuing our conversation on investing in you next month.

Thanks for all you do.

Todd Jones
