Lakeland, Florida
What brought you to Publix?
My mom worked at Publix and loved it. She had previous jobs before Publix, but she never considered them a career. Publix changed that. So when the time came that I wanted a car, my mom told me to get a job at Publix. Fortunately, I applied for a part-time job through a business program in high school and was hired in the payroll department.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Everything we do touches our associates — from paying them each week or month to providing paid time off benefits and tuition reimbursement, and I love that.
What’s your favorite Publix memory?
My favorite memory is the first time I met Mr. George when I was 17. He walked into payroll with a question regarding his pay and was so down-to-earth and extremely nice.
