One Publix — united as owners — with one purpose — to be servant leaders

That was the focus of this year’s retail operations conference (ROC). At the ROC, we bring our store managers and certain support associates together to hear important information about our company from our leaders.

One Publix is meant to unite us in one voice with one message, regardless of what store, district, region, division or area of the company you work in. Successful organizations only get better when that happens. It allows us to work toward a common goal with a consistent approach.

We are more than 190,000 associates, and yet, we are one team working together to achieve our mission. With a company our size, uniting as one is not an easy task, but when we all know what is expected of us, we can get it done.

One purpose is about remembering our core goal, and that’s being industry leaders in serving our customers. It’s not a new concept and doesn’t involve new processes. We’ve all been trained on what serving our customers means — no matter if they’re internal or external. Before you put on your nametag, take time to think about what it says — serving you since. Those are powerful words and something you should be proud to say.

When we all come together to work toward the same goal, anything is possible. It’s great to be Publix and own this amazing company!
