Hide your veggies!

Eat Right

If the thought of a salad for a meal or a raw vegetable as a snack makes you cringe, never fear! You can add vegetables to your daily diet in other ways. Some of them are so sneaky, you might not even know they’re there.

  • Try adding broccoli to your mac ’n cheese, or sliced green peppers and tomatoes to your pizza.
  • Dice mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, yellow squash, carrots or onions to add to your spaghetti sauce or lasagna.
  • Add chopped raw or frozen vegetables to your soup while you’re heating it up.
  • Shred hard vegetables like zucchini, yellow squash or carrots, and add them to your hamburger patties, meatloaf or lasagna.
  • Puree cauliflower, bell peppers, onions or squash to add flavor to mashed potatoes or to thicken sauces and stews.
  • Get a spiraling tool to make noodles out of zucchini or squash, or purchase spiraled vegetables from your Publix. Then, prepare the veggie noodles like spaghetti.

As you can see, all you need is a little creativity and a touch of adventure, and you, too, can hide your veggies!
