Get into the spirit of the season, safely

While celebrating the holidays may look a little different this year, taking added precautions doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice getting into the spirit of the season. We’ve compiled a list of ways to remind loved ones you care in these difficult times.

Give a (socially distant) gift. Santa’s got a hard job, but Publix is here to help. With delivery,* Powered by Instacart, you can have groceries, select floral arrangements or even a delicious dinner delivered to a loved one’s door. To learn more, check out publix.com/delivery.

Shop smart. This time of year brings crowds to stores, so remember to stay 6 feet apart from other shoppers. When you are in a hurry, consider using the convenience of curbside pickup,* Powered by Instacart.

Send some season’s greetings. Have you slacked on your holiday cards in previous years? You might not be able to see everyone in person this year, but you can still make them smile by writing heartfelt messages with wishes for a happy new year.

Embrace family time — the safe way. If you’re staying home this year, use the holiday time to bond with family members. Break out a board game or take the whole household out to walk the dog. If you’re visiting people who don’t live in your household, wear face coverings when social distancing isn’t possible during your visit. Feeling ill or unable to travel? Schedule the whole family for a video call to keep in touch while you’re apart.

Remember: Safety is always the best course of action. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends quarantining if you are sick or have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
