‘EATSing’ our way through the day

We’re walking through a day in the life of GreenWise Market Prepared Foods Clerk Jessica Krupp, #1702, Odessa, Florida.

Rise and shine, sleepyhead! Jessica’s day starts at 5 a.m. when she ventures back to the prep area to begin laying out Chef’s Selection dishes.

“Our Chef’s Selection gives customers plenty of choices when it comes to ready-to-eat options,” Jessica tells us. “I come in first thing in the morning with another associate to start prepping all the dishes and sandwiches, so they are ready to go long before lunchtime.”

Jessica spends the next couple of hours prepping yummy dishes like in-house smoked salmon, prosciutto-wrapped green beans and cheeseburger quesadillas, not to mention the delightful signature sandwiches we just can’t get enough of.

It’s now 8 a.m., and Jessica is headed out to the sales floor to stock what she just prepped before moving to her next task.

“I spend my shifts either working at a station or floating around the EATS area,” says Jessica. “I enjoy the connections I make with people as they come in and ask what toppings they should get on their pizza or what protein for their burrito bowl.”

Fast forward to lunchtime, and EATS is bustling with people! Jessica bounces from station to station.

“A lot of afternoons, I get called to help out with the pizza station,” Jessica tells us. “I have worked there a lot and can move quickly. With the amount of people in line, it’s necessary to work at a fast pace, but still give them the product they came for.”

And just like that, it’s 2 p.m. and time for her to clock out. As she walks through EATS one last time, Jessica watches the looks of delight and wonder on the faces of customers getting their custom burrito bowls, slices of piping-hot pizza or freshly rolled sushi. She can’t help but take pride in her small part of their GreenWise Market experience.
