As Publix associates, we take care of our customers, communities and each other. We also take care of our planet.

It started with Mr. George, who believed we should always look to improve our processes. That foundational thinking led to Publix being intolerant of waste and finding sustainable ways to conduct business and offer customers the products they’re looking for.

From focusing on our recycling program and finding alternative packaging to sourcing products from sustainable fisheries and supporting water conservation efforts, we focus on the environment. With Earth Day being in April, it’s a good time to recommit ourselves to supporting sustainable practices at work and at home.

Taking care of the environment has to be a conscious decision we make daily. Our actions — whether big or small — have a lasting impact on our company and our planet’s natural resources.

I hope you’ll join me in being intolerant of waste and helping improve our company, our communities and our planet.
