‘CUTS-ing’ the beef for smiles

‘Cause who doesn’t get happy for steak and lobster?

Meat Cutter Andrew Richter, #1676, Mountain Brook, Alabama, loves the smiles on customers’ faces as they come in ready to create their next “pork-tacular” creation.

“I love the energy at GreenWise Market. It encourages you to really understand what the customer wants and help them create a masterpiece they won’t forget,” said Andrew.

In the CUTS experience zone, you will find options not necessarily available at your local Publix but still the same great quality.

“Customer favorites are either the in-store, freshly cooked seafood or American-style Kobe beef. Both are great options for a special night in with friends or loved ones,” said Andrew. “As Publix and GreenWise Market associates, the expectation is that quality matters. If you wouldn’t buy it yourself, then don’t put it out for customers.”

Andrew started with Publix in 2014 as a front service clerk and moved to GreenWise Market when the Mountain Brook store opened in 2019. A little over a year ago, he moved into the CUTS department, and the rest is history.

“Our management team at #1676 has helped me progress in my career and find opportunities to lead me to where I am today. It’s like working with friends who want to see you succeed,” said Andrew.

And as for advice for associates wanting to work in CUTS:

“Don’t get overwhelmed. There are a lot of varieties of seafood and meat, but knowing them comes with time,” said Andrew. “It is all about passionately selling our great products.”
