In a survey of 6,600 consumers conducted by Market Force Information, Publix ranked as North America’s second favorite grocery store based on customer satisfaction. Trader Joe’s was No. 1, and Whole Foods ranked No. 3.
In addition to receiving high marks for sales and promotions, inviting atmosphere and fast checkout, Publix received top marks in two operational excellence attributes: cleanliness and courteous staff. Publix also ranked high in the areas of quality products, natural and organic options, nutritional information and sustainable practices.
The study, conducted in May, was designed to reveal where consumers prefer to shop, as well as why they favor one retailer over another.
