Dolmecia is finding success through her love for people

Recycling Specialist Dolmecia Fleming is committed to Publix’s high standards.

Dolmecia is a people person. She has always been motivated to provide premier service to her different customers throughout her Publix career.

She started with Publix in 2001 and gained experience working in the low velocity warehouse, the bakery plant and the deli plant. In 2012, she took a year off to take care of her mother and returned to Publix in 2013.

“I returned as a part-time cashier for 6 months and then got a full-time position in customer service,” Dolmecia said. “From there, I transitioned to the pharmacy department until I got the opportunity to be in my current position.”

In her daily duties, Dolmecia wears many hats. She educates, advocates and implements the best practices and Publix policies regarding recycling.

“I am dedicated to my mission and serve our customers the best I can,” said Dolmecia. “I love engaging with people, and I firmly believe this was further rooted in me during my time in our stores.”

Since 2017, Dolmecia has also served her community through her nonprofit organization, Angels of Destiny, Inc. By providing community involvement, self-esteem building and mentoring to young women, she wants to serve as a beacon of hope. Her focus is mainly central Florida, but she’s recently established a branch in Tunica, Mississippi. She is also in the process of opening a transitional home for girls aging out of foster care. The goal will be to teach them life skills and how to become more self-sufficient.

“Dolmecia makes it her mission to do good for others, whether at work or in the community through her nonprofit,” said Senior Manager of Sustainability Programs Lisa Gilliard. “She believes in providing premier service and sharing Publix’s sustainability goals. This helps our customers know they are shopping with a company that cares for the environment.”

“In addition to her philanthropic endeavors supporting our community through her nonprofit organization, Dolmecia excels in engaging in socially and environmentally responsible business practices,” said Director of Sustainability & Environmental Programs Michael Hewett. “She contributes to making Publix a great place to shop and provides premier customer experiences.”

Dolmecia’s dedication to promoting social and environmental responsibility and her commitment to providing premier service are why she’s recognized as a My Publix, My Part difference maker.
