Warehouse Selector Jerome Pope has had a passion for photography since childhood.

Jerome started his career at Publix in 2017. He works at the high velocity warehouse in McCalla, Alabama. His primary responsibilities are to pull stores’ product orders and place them on pallets. Then, he wraps completed orders and moves them to the dock area to be loaded on a truck for delivery.

Jerome likes the physical workout he gets every day. Even as a child, he loved being active. “When I was young, I played a lot of sports,” Jerome said. “I played basketball, football and baseball, and this job helps keep me in shape.”

This father of 2 kids — soon to be 3 — is dedicated to his work, his hobby and his family. He is grateful for all the opportunities Publix provides. But when he’s not working, Jerome’s passion turns to photography.

“Photography is more than just captivating; it also captures untold experiences and beautiful narratives,” he said. “I enjoy sharing prints with my Instagram or blog followers from different locations while sharing people’s stories too.”

After saving up for months, he bought his 1st camera in 2015. Now, he has his own photography business so he can capture life’s big moments.

“I always tell people I’m a portrait photographer because I like people,” he said. “I like working with people and making them feel good about themselves.”

For Jerome, timing is of the essence when it comes to photography because a special moment can disappear in an instant. Ultimately, he wants to leave a legacy not only as a photographer who captures life’s big moments but also as a person who was loved and did everything for his family.
