Deli Clerk Travis Whitfield, #1413, Dunedin, Florida, tells us why he is passionate about his job.
Travis started at Publix in 2020 after spending 10 years in the restaurant industry. He was amazed by our company’s culture and the way we treat our customers. He decided that this was the place he wanted to learn and grow.
“It was a big change from my previous job. Here we get to interact with our customers. We go above and beyond and always try to provide them with what they are looking for,” Travis said. “I also love the fact that we have regulars who always come and look for you.”
Travis’ main duties are to serve customers at the deli counter as they look for items and answer questions about our products. He is also responsible for cleaning and preparing workstations, and ensuring that we produce and maintain high-quality products.
“To be successful as a deli clerk, you need to learn many different skills and embrace all of them,” Travis said. “Being on time and organized is really important in this fast-paced department. And the most important thing: Always smile.”
