Think about this: Your daughter’s been playing saxophone in her high school band, but the school lacks funds to purchase new equipment. You want to help, so you donate $500 and designate it to the music department.
Then you access the Publix Super Markets Charities’ (PSMC) Matching Gift program on PASSport to donate. If approved, Publix Charities matches your donation, and the school receives a total of $1,000.
PSMC will match any donation from $25 to $5,000 in 1 year or $10,000 over 2 years. All you have to do is donate to an eligible educational institution serving kindergarten through college students.
You can designate your gift for general use or a specific program, department or scholarship (except for college sports). PSMC will designate the match in the same way.
Full- or part-time associates with at least 1 year of service can participate. Part-time associates must also meet a minimum of 1,000 work credit hours in the previous calendar year.
“This lets us help you give to schools you care about — your alma mater, where your kids are going or a community school,” said PSMC Executive Director Kelly Williams-Puccio.
