The artistic side of Publix marketing

Have you seen ads, brochures and billboards around your local Publix store and wondered how we came up with the design? Marketing Art Director Zuleika Arroyo is one of the creative minds behind some of them.

Zuleika started her career with Publix in 2019 as a contractor in our marketing department before being hired as a full-time studio designer.

“When I was a contractor, I kept hoping I would have an opportunity to become a Publix associate,” said Zuleika. “It was a blessing. I fell in love with Publix.”

She moved up to a senior designer position in 2021, before being promoted to her current role in 2022.

Her day consists of developing marketing concepts, planning shoots with photographers and working with graphic designers to bring ideas to life.

“I like to collaborate with my team,” she said. “I want to hear their ideas; I always involve them in the concept phase.”

Zuleika enjoys the opportunities to learn and expand her skill set.

“I love the balance I get here,” she said. “We do a lot of work, and we’re always busy. But we’re still able to take time to learn new things and try different ideas.”

When it comes to someone wanting to join the marketing team, Zuleika says it’s important to be passionate.

“You gotta love what you do,” she said. “You should enjoy creating new ideas and be eager to learn every day.”
