Pharmacy Technician Mikael Semexant, #1440, Orlando, Florida, embodies the spirit of premier service.
Mikael has always loved to be around people. And since joining Publix 3 years ago, he’s enjoyed bonding with his team members and interacting with customers. Mikael looks after both like family.
Last year, he showed how big his heart is. Mikael displayed dedication and compassion, going above and beyond to provide premier service to 2 customers, even after they left our store.
“I saw an older couple with an overfilled shopping cart and asked them how they would carry their groceries home. They told me they bought much more than expected,” said Mikael. “They were planning to walk across a very busy 6-lane road to get home, which I thought was risky. They could’ve been in an accident.”
Mikael quickly decided to get his car and drive the couple home. He was able to fit all the groceries in his trunk and took the couple home safely. This act of kindness shows his commitment to providing genuine care and support to our customers, which is why they shop at Publix.
“When I received the gold coin, I was surprised,” said Mikael. “I never expected that this action would receive this level of recognition. I’m incredibly honored.”
