Reinaldo Sibilly has been with Publix for almost 40 years. He started by unloading railcars and worked in multiple distribution positions before becoming a driver.
What do you think contributes to Publix’s safety culture?
Publix ensures that its truck drivers are well-prepared by providing comprehensive training covering many aspects of driving. Drivers are also offered refresher courses and continuous learning to help us stay updated on changes in laws and regulations.
How do you prepare for a day on the road?
I perform a thorough safety check on the truck and trailer to ensure everything is in good shape.
How do you represent Publix’s values in the community?
I aim to be the best ambassador possible while on the road by providing quality service and driving safely to show Publix’s professionalism.
What are your favorite Publix memories?
I’ve been awarded the Safe Driver Award 8 times, winning awards for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of safe driving. I’ve also received awards for 1 and 2 million miles of safe driving. And I also won 4th place at the Florida State Truck Driving Championships.
What skills do you find most useful in your current role?
I’m grateful for the calm and collected approach I’ve developed, especially while driving in challenging conditions.
What’s your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
I like to travel.
