Associate blends ownership with teamwork in the fresh kitchen

Line Operator Stacy Hamitt began working as a line worker in the Deerfield Beach, Florida, fresh kitchen in 2021, and she was promoted to line operator later that year. Stacy was recently promoted to team lead.

In her previous role as line operator, Stacy focused on food safety, teamwork and being her best. She fostered a supportive work environment by gathering her team every morning to review critical responsibilities.

“Food safety is a top priority at our fresh kitchen. From always wearing gloves to managing allergens, we ensure the line is set up correctly and verify our products are fresh before adding them to the production line,” Stacy said.

Teamwork is also a priority.

“One person can’t get the work done alone,” said Stacy. “So, everyone must come together to get on the same page.”

To her, success lies in having a sense of ownership, taking responsibility and having the courage to go for it. Stacy encourages her team to never give up, keep pushing forward and focus on what’s important. She sees challenges as opportunities to grow, and she constantly strives to be her best.
