Debbie began her Publix career in 2001 as the manager of group benefits. She was promoted to her current position in 2024.
Which skills have advanced your Publix career the most?
I am passionate about process improvement and organization. I strive to be a supportive manager who is always available for my team. My experience in benefits administration and the technological tools used to manage these functions have been crucial to my career development.
What do you want to learn next?
I enjoy exploring data analytics to help our team make more informed decisions, drive efficiency and foster innovation.

I believe in leading by example and cultivating a collaborative environment where every team member feels valued. I’m a fan of continuous improvement and embracing change.
What’s your proudest moment?
Personally, the birth of my son and continuing to work while overcoming cancer. Professionally, being promoted to my current role.

If I’m not listening to news programs, I enjoy country music.
What’s your favorite sports team?
My spouse is a sports fanatic who roots for all Cleveland teams. I’m just happy not to watch sports, but we make it work.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy being with family, traveling, attending concerts and spending time outdoors. I like hiking, working in the yard and relaxing at the pool.
Where is the farthest you’ve traveled?
I’ve been to Hawaii 11 times, totaling over 50,000 air miles. I truly appreciate the islands’ beauty and rich culture.
If you could meet anyone in the past or present, who would it be?
I’d love to meet Steve Jobs to gain insights into his innovative mindset and leadership approach.
What’s on your bucket list?
Traveling to Australia and New Zealand.
