Through the Good Together food donation program, we help provide food to families and individuals in our communities every day.

Our program provides wholesome food for people facing hunger and limits food waste. It allows us to donate food from our deli, grocery, meat and produce departments that is no longer salable but safe for consumption. We donate to Feeding America partner food banks and other nonprofit organizations.

These donations play a vital role in helping food banks in our operating area serve their communities.

“Publix is our most valued partner in our work to end hunger for over 256,000 Alabamians every day,” said Heart of Alabama Food Bank CEO Michael Coleman. “The food we deliver significantly impacts our neighbors in need.”

Last September, we expanded the program to include more than 4,000 additional products for donation, including items like yogurt and frozen foods.

“Over the past 2 years, we’ve received almost 4.5 million pounds of food through the Good Together food donation program,” said Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina CEO Kay Carter. “Thanks to Publix, we’re able to provide food to the families we serve through over 950 partner agencies in a 24-county region of North and South Carolina.”
