Grocery Replenishment Specialist Valex Charles, #1424, Boynton Beach, Florida, is a shining example of being productive to serve our customers.

In December 2002, Valex moved from Haiti to the United States, excited to start a new life. A year later, he began working for Publix as a grocery clerk at #143, Boynton Beach. Since then, he has put his heart and soul into every task.

In 2012, Valex became a grocery replenishment specialist and plans to retire in that role because he loves his job so much.

“Valex is the exact associate you think of when you think about productivity,” said Store Manager Dave Goon. “He is reliable and takes great pride in keeping our dairy section full and clean.”

As a grocery replenishment specialist, Valex walks his section throughout his shift to add items that need to be replenished. He prioritizes products so he knows where to focus his attention when deliveries come in.

“Time management helps me throughout my day because it’s important to remain productive even when the unexpected happens,” said Valex. “I stop everything to give customers my undivided attention if they need help, and then I return to the task at hand.”

The secret to Valex’s success is prioritization. He also works safely and maintains an organized workplace.
