What made you want to work for Publix?
As a child, when we shopped at Publix I became fascinated with the people behind the pharmacy counter. That experience left a lasting impression on me and motivated me to pursue a career with Publix Pharmacy.
Why did you become a pharmacy tech?
I always knew I wanted to be in the health care field. I considered becoming a nurse, but those childhood shopping trips stuck with me. I decided pharmacy was a better fit for me.
What do you enjoy most about being a pharmacy tech?
I love helping our patients and putting smiles on their faces. My co-workers and managers make it a great working environment.
Who motivates you every day?
My children and grandchildren are all the motivation I need. I show them what a strong work ethic looks like. I want them to see me working hard every day. I hope it will inspire them to have resilience and determination in their own lives as they pursue their dreams.
What activities do you enjoy outside of working at Publix?
I love spending time with my grandbabies, especially taking them to the park — anything for them to have fun. I also enjoy traveling. Barbados stands out as the best place I’ve ever been. The people and environment were very welcoming.
What’s your favorite Publix product?
I enjoy all of our fruit.
