Meet Pharmacy Manager Vanessa Leskow

Pharmacy Manager Vanessa Leskow, #55, Palm Springs, Florida, continued her family’s legacy by joining Publix. She has been working for Publix for 13 years.

Why did you want to become a pharmacist?

I always knew I wanted to be in health care. My profession allows me to be involved in the community and have direct patient contact.

What keeps you going every day?

My family keeps me going, especially my kids. I want to set a good example for them, demonstrate that dedication and hard work always pay off, and have them see the benefits.

If you were not a pharmacist, what would you be?

I think I’d be a teacher like my mom. I used to help her decorate her classroom, and I love kids. I’m a pharmacy preceptor now, which means I supervise and mentor pharmacy students during their clinical rotation. So in a way, I am a teacher.

Who inspires you?

My family serves as a source of admiration and inspiration. My dad has worked at Publix for 42 years. He’s why I chose to work for Publix. I grew up knowing that this culture aligned with my values.

What are your hobbies?

I like reading, traveling and camping.

What is your personal motto?

Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it. Look for the good things in your day.
