At #1091, Suwanee, Georgia, Store Manager Josh Jackson is more than a leader — he’s a source of inspiration.
Known for his genuine care and thoughtful leadership, Josh fosters a culture where associates feel empowered to grow, connect and contribute.
He brings associates together through bonding opportunities like holiday bulletin boards and team celebrations.
“When we let people share pieces of who they are, it makes the store feel like a family,” Josh said.
He leads with a people-first mindset, regularly checking in with associates and encouraging them to support each other. His background has shaped his approach to leadership.
Josh learned the value of hard work and resilience early on, starting as a cashier after high school and broadening his knowledge through roles in multiple departments. Those experiences, along with the guidance of mentors, taught him the value of pursuing opportunities while leaning on others for support.
Josh is proud to work for a company that champions belonging and creates opportunities for associates to thrive.
“Publix believed in me from the start of my career,” he said. “My success wasn’t about changing who I am; it was about being given the chance to grow. Everyone deserves that.”
That belief in opportunity fuels Josh’s passion for inclusion and empowerment in his store and his community.
Each February during Black History Month, Josh reflects on the contributions of African Americans throughout history.
“This is a time to celebrate our achievements, share knowledge and pass that pride to future generations,” he said.
For Josh, these reflections aren’t limited to one month — they shape how he leads every day. They remind him that progress happens when people are seen, heard and supported. Through mentorship and recognition, Josh works to ensure associates feel valued and encouraged to reach their goals.
