Helping the environment during Publix Serves Week

You and your fellow associates can honor Mr. George’s legacy of giving back by participating in Publix Serves Week in the spring and fall of each year.

Starting April 18 for support associates and April 19 for retail associates, you can volunteer for activities focused on environmental sustainability, such as water conservation projects, park cleanups and tree plantings. Last April, more than 7,000 associates volunteered on nearly 150 projects in our eight-state operating area.

Training Specialist Emily McFall has been an associate since 2020 and started her Publix journey in Marietta, Georgia. One of her first tasks as a Publix Serves Week volunteer was helping to clean up a local waterway. Since then, Emily has been hooked on volunteering and embracing our mission to be responsible citizens in our communities.

Another memorable experience for her was when Executive Chairman Todd Jones, who was CEO at the time, showed up to help despite a gloomy forecast. “It was really cool to see our CEO giving back and working alongside so many Publix people,” Emily said. Each Publix Serves Week she has participated in has given her a sense of pride in representing our company.

Director of Community Relations Dwaine Stevens shares a similar sentiment. “It’s so fulfilling to see thousands of associates come together during Publix Serves Week, continuing our company’s legacy. Their commitment to driving positive change represents the true spirit of Publix, and I admire the difference they’re making.”

Talk to your manager if you want to get involved. Let’s do good, together.
