Tony Minor, Charlotte Division Regional Director

Tony joined Publix in 1996 as a front service clerk at #567, Fort Pierce, Florida. He held many roles in grocery before becoming a store manager in 2013. He was promoted to district manager in 2017 and served in the Atlanta and Jacksonville divisions. He has been in his current position since 2023.

What is the best career advice you received?
It was from my dad, who was a Publix store manager. He told me, “Do the right things for the right reasons, and it will always pay off in the end.”

What’s something about you that people may be surprised to learn?
I have studied and practiced several versions of martial arts on and off since I was a teen, including karate and Krav Maga. I also enjoy high-adrenaline activities, such as white-water rafting, zip lining, rope trails, off-road ATV trail riding, bungee jumping and skydiving. Another fun fact is that I have worked in 4 of our 5 divisions.

What do you want your legacy to be at Publix?
I want to be known as somebody who led with the courage to stand for what I believe in, even in the midst of adversity or pressure to do otherwise. I also want to be known for kindness and for protecting the brand by teaching, developing and empowering those I serve. For me, it’s more about being a mentor and investing in the success of others — being someone they can count on long term when things are tough.
