Through the Good Together food donation program, we help put food in the hands of people who need it the most.
Our program provides wholesome food for people facing hunger and reduces food waste. It allows us to donate food from our deli, grocery, meat and produce departments that is no longer salable but still safe for consumption. Donations are made to Feeding America partner food banks and their partner agencies.
Our food bank partners say these donations are essential as they work to serve the communities in our operating area.
“The Good Together food donation program is a lifeline that ensures families have consistent access to diverse, healthy meals,” said Rhonda Gindlesperger, chief operating officer at Feeding Tampa Bay. “We’re deeply grateful for Publix’s long-standing commitment, which serves as a vital model for how impactful partnerships can stabilize households and transform the well-being of our neighbors.”
In 2024, we added 4,000 new items for donation, including yogurt and frozen foods. Last year, we donated over 140 million pounds of food — a single-year record for the program.
“At Publix, we believe one of our most significant opportunities to give back is by helping address food insecurity, bringing hope to those in need,” said Director of Community Relations Dwaine Stevens. “Through the Good Together food donation program, we are proud to support food banks and pantries as they offer nourishing options and renewed support to the communities they serve.”
Since the program began in 2009, we’ve donated over 1.1 billion pounds of food to feed our neighbors in need, making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. Let’s keep doing good, together.
