These 6 associates were recognized with the Mr. George Community Service Award for being actively involved where they live and representing the generous spirit of our founder.

Mr. George once said, “We are not only in the grocery business, we’re in the people business.” That means taking care of our customers, communities and each other. Each year, one associate from each division and one from support receive the Mr. George Community Service Award for continuing his legacy of giving back.

Our 2026 honorees have taken our founder’s words to heart and are fulfilling our mission to be involved as responsible citizens in the communities we serve. The recipients are ingrained in the fabric of their community by helping children, feeding neighbors in need and making the area around them a better place to live. Since 1995, 165 associates have received this prestigious award.
