More than 400 associates from Regional Director Sam Pero’s area participated in local Heart Walks to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA). They raised more than $40,000, which was more than five times the amount raised last year.
Heart Walks are hosted all over the country every year to help support the fight against cardiovascular disease, the No. 1 killer of all Americans. The walks raise money for educating doctors on ground-breaking studies, compiling and communicating life-saving information for all Americans, and advancing pediatric heart and stroke research.
“This was our second year volunteering with the AHA, and we saw a tremendous increase in participation and fundraising,” said District Manager Del Cragin. “We were honored to be part of the event and appreciate the hard work and dedication of so many Publix associates.”
