Tana began her Publix career in 1988 as a cashier at #206, Palatka, Fla. She was promoted to full time in 1989 and into management in 1992. She was promoted to store manager in 2000 and district manager in 2004. In August, she was promoted to her current position.

You get out of life exactly what you put in to it. If you’re not happy, look within yourself and ask, “Did I give my very best?”
What has changed most about Publix since you started here?
The diversity of leadership has increased significantly.
How has Publix influenced you?
I’ve learned about the importance of great leadership and what it entails — truly valuing those you work with and approaching my team with a servant mentality in all that I do.
What’s your proudest moment?
The births and graduations of my children. I’m so proud of the people they’ve become.
