Each year, Feeding America recognizes a company whose food donations have made a significant impact on their success. Feeding South Florida — a division of Feeding America — chose Publix as this year’s recipient.
“Publix is passionate about supporting the important work of organizations like Feeding South Florida to help the hungry of our community, and it is an honor to be recognized. Here in the Miami Division, our associates work hard to support Feeding South Florida through our Food For All and Perishable Recovery programs,” Media and Community Manager Nicole Krauss said.

United Way names Publix its 2013 Community Champion
United Way of the Midlands chose Publix as their 2013 Community Champion Award winner. This includes #67, #587, #597, #656, #829, #883 and #1095, Columbia, S.C.; #512 and #1383, Lexington, S.C.; and #17, Irmo, S.C. These stores were chosen for their involvement and support of local United Way events and fundraisers.
During United Way’s Day of Action, the associates at these stores made up the largest company team with more than 50 volunteers working at the Richland Library event. This is the second time Publix has led the way in number of volunteers.
I am proud to work with so many responsible citizens. We are truly connected through United Way,” said District Manager Walter Laird. “The volunteer hours and donations our associates contribute prove their dedication to improving the lives and strengthening the communities of the Midlands of South Carolina.”
