Our mission for our stockholders

Ed Crenshaw

As we dig deeper to understand our mission, our first focus area is so important because our culture is centered around company ownership.

Being devoted to the highest standards of stewardship for our stockholders means being entrusted with the amazing opportunity to own this great company. Read more about being devoted to our company

For most of us, company ownership serves as motivation to take care of all aspects of the company — product, equipment, customers and each other. Each day we make decisions that affect them. So it’s important for all of us, regardless of our position, to make good decisions, and that’s really what stewardship is all about.

We know that what’s important for our company is taking care of products through their quality and food safety, focusing on proper equipment maintenance and store remodels to stay fresh, providing premier service to our customers, and understanding the importance of working together as a team. It’s also being productive, offering good benefits, and above all, being the Publix family.

When we take care of the things we know are important, the outcome is a company that’s strong, vibrant and growing — that’s Publix!

Our founder, Mr. George, made associates company owners because he believed that when you own something you take better care of it. That philosophy has proven true time and time again. That was part of his genius. And it’s what makes Publix so unique today.
