Publix was built on a culture of ownership. When our founder, Mr. George, opened the doors to the very 1st store, he knew that to run the finest food store in town, he would need a dedicated, hardworking team who shared his vision. So, Mr. George extended stock ownership to his associates, believing that if they owned a part of the company, they would take care of it.
Nearly 95 years later, we are the largest employee-owned company in the United States. That’s something to be proud of. This month, you’ll learn more about our culture of ownership and some of our benefits during your annual Associate Benefits Meeting.
As owners of this great company, it’s up to us to nurture and take care of it. For those of you who are newer to Publix, you are well on your way to becoming owners of the best company in the world.
Thanks for all you contribute.
