It’s a new year — one I believe most of us didn’t think could get here soon enough. With a new year comes the opportunity to set goals and think about the future.

You spent last year raising the bar on premier service and showing our customers just how special the Publix difference really is. And that difference extends beyond service.

Whether we’re talking about our co-workers, our customers or our communities, we are all part of the Publix family. As part of this amazing family, we should take the start of the new year as a chance to recommit our focus on a couple of foundational principles:

• Service — Providing premier service applies whether you’re being there for a co-worker, helping a customer or volunteering in your community. Being a leader in service is what others expect from us and what we expect from each other. And you know how to deliver on that in a way no one else does.
• Respect — Treating others with dignity and respect shows you care for them as individuals. We can all learn from each other because our lives have brought us different experiences. Having an open mind and heart will help us build stronger relationships and continue to grow together as One Publix with One Purpose.

I’m looking forward to seeing how we’ll continue to raise the bar on the Publix difference and what we’ll be able to accomplish in 2021.
