We have a brand promise — a positioning statement that defines the relationship we want to create with our customers.
That promise says: Publix is the store that knows the most and cares the most about the products we sell and the people we serve.
To understand what that means, we have developed six qualities that help define our brand. They describe what we do, who we are, what it means to be Publix and what we should strive for. This month I’ll discuss being honest, and in the coming months, I’ll share more on the other traits. At its foundation, being honest is about doing what we say we are going to do. It’s about being above board, ethical, transparent and sincere. By doing those things, we build trust.
Honesty can be as simple as being sincere when you ask your customers how they are doing. Or it could be asking for help if you aren’t sure how to answer a question or complete a task.
We know being trusted is not only important to our customers, but it’s important to you. We want our customers to feel good about shopping here, and we want you to feel good about working here. Making sure you learn about our character traits will help you better serve your customers and better understand what it means to be part of the Publix family.
You are the key to Publix’s success today and in the future. How you feel about our brand has a direct impact on how our customers feel about us. So, understanding who we are is an important part of your role at Publix.
Thanks for all you do.
