You’ve heard of brands like Nike, Disney and Google. A brand is what a customer thinks about it as soon as they see or hear it. What do we want our customers to think about when they see or hear Publix?
We have a brand promise — a positioning statement that defines the relationship we want to create with our customers.
Publix is the store that knows the most and cares the most about the products we sell and the people we serve.
To make this brand promise happen, our customers have to trust us. Trust is earned over time, but it is fragile and can be broken overnight. You affect how trustworthy we are.
How you think about our brand will also have a direct impact on how our customers think about it. So, understanding who we are is an important part of your role at Publix.
We have developed qualities that define our brand. They describe what we do, who we are, what it means to be Publix and what we should strive for.
For the rest of this year, I will focus my messages on these traits, what they mean and how you contribute to what customers think about us. You are the key to Publix’s success today and in the future.
Thanks for all you do.
