Deli associates throughout the company have been working to become Certified Premium Deli Professionals (CPDP), so it’s cause for celebration when an entire department reaches its Publix/Boar’s Head CPDP validation.
To become validated, 85 percent of deli associates must achieve a score of least 85 on three consecutive Deli Service Experience assessments from Publix and Boar’s Head.
The deli at #399, Tampa, Fla., recently received CPDP validation, and to celebrate their success, the bakery decided to whip up something special. Decorator Anastasia Spencer McGee created a cake using fondant to resemble sandwiches, wraps, rolled meats and cheese slices. The cake was topped with a replica of the Boar’s Head logo.
“Our associates loved the cake Anastasia made,” said Assistant Store Manager Jennifer Medina. “They did not realize what talent we had right here in our store.”
