To get young customers excited about going back to school, associates at #393, Jacksonville, Fla., held a selling event for kids.
Demonstrations were set up on low tables so they were at kids’ eye-level. Samples included Publix brand items like assorted deli lunch meats, Peanut Butter and Fruit Roll-Ups kids’ platters, cheese and crackers, and produce snacks. They also held a cookie stacking contest and played the shell game using deli cups and a peanut butter pretzel.
“Our customer service team leader, Clayton Rooney, even took it upon himself to learn how to make balloon animals,” said Customer Service Manager Mike Maycott. “Because we focused on interacting with the kids and parents, it turned out to be our most successful event.”
