Grocery Clerk Dylan Spindler, #632, Taylors, South Carolina, helps associates and customers appreciate an inclusive workplace.
Since beginning his career with Publix in 2023, Dylan has brought a unique perspective and a strong work ethic to everything he does.
Finding a nurturing workplace has been beneficial for Dylan, who is on the autism spectrum.
“Our management team works closely with Dylan to ensure he feels supported,” said Store Manager Jon Sowar. “They provide clear instructions and a welcoming environment where he can thrive.”
Because of this support, Dylan continues to gain confidence and grow professionally.
“He loves routines and paying attention to small details,” said Jon. “The structure at Publix gives him a sense of independence and pride while doing work he enjoys.”
Dylan likes creating lifelong memories for his customers.
“I remember shopping here with my parents as a kid, riding in the carts and getting free cookies from the bakery,” he said. “Now, I get to work at a place where I had such good childhood experiences and help others create memories at their local Publix.”
His positivity and dedication have also inspired associates and customers to see the value of inclusion.
“Dylan’s co-workers describe him as dependable, kind and an important part of the Publix family,” said Jon. “His story highlights the importance of creating supportive workplaces where individuals of all abilities can succeed!”
