For 30 years, Christine Mitchell has helped shape the deli experience with creativity and passion.
As team lead for research and development in deli manufacturing, Christine has a clear purpose: Ccreate products that are enjoyable for customers.
“When I develop a new product, I think about how customers will use it — whether on its own or as part of another dish,” said Christine. “That perspective guides decisions about flavor, packaging and convenience.”
Her approach has led to more than 40 deli items, including favorites like our Volcano Roll Dip and Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Christine credits her success to collaboration and mentorship.
“I’ve had some amazing mentors at Publix,” said Christine. “That support helped me grow, and now I want to do the same for other associates.”
People often approach her for advice and guidance, especially women interested in product development.
“I encourage them to stay prepared,” said Christine. “It’s important to know your products, know your job and not to be afraid to go after new opportunities.”
Her commitment to empowering others embodies the spirit of Women’s History Month, a time to honor the contributions of women, past and present. For Christine, recognition is essential to progress.
“When women are acknowledged and supported, it builds confidence and opens doors for them to achieve more,” she shared.
