What made you want to work for Publix?
I committed to making Publix my career because of its emphasis on safety and quality patient care. I love how Publix cares for its associates. Everyone contributes to a bigger purpose, and Publix makes sure that we feel valued.
Why did you become a pharmacist?
I became a pharmacist to help or even save people. I take a lot of pride in my work and knowing that I made someone’s life a little better gives me an extraordinary sense of fulfillment.
What do you enjoy most about being a pharmacist?
I love the interactions and relationships I have with patients. I have a strong bond of trust with a lot of them. Some of them have even brought me small gifts to show their appreciation.
Who motivates you every day?
My kids are my No. 1 driving factor. I want to be able to provide the best life possible for them. No matter how tired I am from work, seeing my kids pushes me forward. My other driving factor is my patients. They feel like a 2nd family to me.
What activities do you enjoy outside of Publix?
I enjoy doing activities with and for my church. We buy and deliver food for our homeless outreach program. I also love spending time cooking with my kids and seeing their reactions to any new dish I learn.
