Assistant Pharmacy Manager Perry Patel, #616, Alpharetta, Georgia, appreciates team collaboration. He has been working for Publix for 21 years.
Why did you want to become a pharmacist?
I wanted to work in health care since I was young. My dad guided me toward a career in pharmacy because it is a respected profession.
What keeps you going every day?
My pharmacy team. I’ve been blessed to work with the same 5 people for 20 years. They’re more than my co-workers; we truly are a pharmacy family.
If you were not a pharmacist, what would you be?
If I had the skills, I would have been a professional golfer.
Who inspires you?
My father. He came to the United States in the early 1970s without knowing anyone. He’s lived the American dream.
What are your hobbies?
I love to play golf, travel and watch sports.
What is your personal motto?
Carpe diem. It means “seize the day” in Latin. Life is short, so you’ve got to make the best of it.
