Pharmacy Manager Girgis Wahba, #1234, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, enjoys helping patients. He has been working for Publix for 3 years.
Why did you want to become a pharmacist?
I wanted to help people, especially my dad. He was diabetic. When he received his medication, he didn’t know how to administer it, but his pharmacist was very helpful.
What keeps you going every day?
I’m motivated when I see our patients have positive outcomes. It feels good when they tell us how important we are to them and how our advice helped.
If you were not a pharmacist, what would you be?
My daughter once broke her femur (thigh bone) in 2 places. If I weren’t a pharmacist, I’d be an orthopedic surgeon.
Who inspires you?
Personally, it’s my family. My wife, Sandra, is also a pharmacist at Publix and a true role model. Professionally, it’s my leadership team. They listen, are open to new ideas and are very supportive.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy watching my kids’ activities like karate. They’ve been competing professionally for over 5 years. My son is a black belt, and my daughter is a purple belt.
What is your personal motto?
I am committed to delivering the highest standard of care to others, and valuing everyone with the same respect I would give my family.
