Pharmacy Manager Mohammad Zayed, #584, Tampa, Florida, values teamwork. He has been working for Publix for 3 years.
Why did you want to become a pharmacist?
When I was young, my mom had health issues and took a lot of medication, but my family didn’t know why. As I got older, I helped manage her medications and wanted to learn how they worked. I also like helping people and making a difference in their lives.
What keeps you going every day?
My wife and I have 3 girls and a boy. Everything we do is to make their lives better. They are my biggest cheerleaders.
If you were not a pharmacist, what would you be?
I would have followed in my father’s footsteps and gone into real estate. I am a licensed realtor, but I don’t practice.
Who inspires you?
My father came from Palestine with $100 in his pocket. Although he faced challenges, he provided for us. I try to do the same for my family.
What are your hobbies?
I’m happy to do whatever my family wants. My wife and I try to keep our kids involved in community service and sports.
What is your personal motto?
It is what it is. I can’t control everything. All I can do is wake up, put a smile on my face and try to make the world a better place.
