Monique Muntaqim has worked as a deli clerk for 9 years. When she heard about our new store opening in Louisville, Kentucky, Monique jumped at the opportunity.
When she joined #1846, she became responsible for deli production. She prepares salads, grab and go sandwiches, and more. Monique ensures that the meals planned for the day are filled. She sometimes helps other clerks make subs and slice cold cuts for waiting customers.
During the week, Monique arrives at the store at 4 a.m. to ensure everything is prepped to our Publix standards and ready when the doors open at 7 a.m. Since larger numbers of customers visit her store on the weekend, she arrives at 2 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
“I love working this early. I’ve developed a great work routine,” Monique said.
After moving from Columbia, South Carolina, Monique has had a positive experience in this new market.
“The customers in Kentucky have been amazing, and I get excited to tell them how lovely life is working for Publix,” said Monique. “Talking about Publix makes it easy to be positive and guide my team to success.”
