Produce Clerk Corey Koster, #1573, Tallahassee, Florida, loves the fresh aspect of PRODUCE at Publix GreenWise Market (PGWM) and the flexibility of honing his interests.

Three years ago, Corey and his partner moved to Tallahassee to attend college. Corey wanted to find a job with flexibility in scheduling and heard how great it was to work at Publix. So when he came across PGWM, he was hooked.

“I started out in EATS and after 2 weeks, I learned that wasn’t where my interest was,” said Corey. “So our prepared foods manager, Holly Lambert, took me around the whole store to show me all of the opportunities that were right in front of me.”

He soon found his love in PRODUCE and hasn’t left.

“I love all things fresh,” said Corey. “And it’s beautiful. There are so many colors and varieties in PRODUCE.”

With his very early mornings spent unloading the truck and working to get the displays filled and organized, Corey enjoys taking some time in the afternoon to work on the floral area.

“I take ‘Stop and smell the roses’ quite seriously,” joked Corey. “It is so calming and rewarding to see it all come together visually, and customers love to compliment it!”

And as for his favorite product? He is all about kombucha.

“I grew up drinking things like apple cider vinegar and not really sweet soda,” said Corey. “And now I’ve come to get quite the reputation for my love of kombucha.”

Even though PRODUCE is still his No. 1 choice, Corey has offered a helping hand to many other areas.

“I’ve learned how to help out in POURS, EATS and GROCERY,” said Corey. “We are a big family here. It gets busy during different times of the day, and we all jump in to help wherever it is needed. We succeed only when we work as one.”
