Lead Immunizing Pharmacy Technician Celia Cardoza, #129, Brandon, Florida, is taking the next step in her career with the help of Publix’s tuition reimbursement program.
Currently pursuing an associate degree in pharmacy at Hillsborough College, Celia plans to transfer to the University of South Florida this year. Her goal is to become a Publix Pharmacist.
A conversation with a fellow technician led her to explore education opportunities on PASSport.
“I wanted to continue my education without falling into debt,” said Celia. “The tuition reimbursement program has made a huge difference in my life. Now I make sure every new tech knows about this amazing resource.”
Balancing a full-time job and school can be challenging, but the support from her managers and co-workers makes it easier.
“Everyone takes education seriously,” said Celia. “My leaders understand school comes first, and my team is always willing to help, whether that means swapping shifts or breaking down concepts covered in class.”
Her studies are already paying off, giving her deeper insight into medications and prescriptions. “It’s rewarding to connect what I learn in class with real-life pharmacy work,” she said.
Celia is proud of maintaining strong grades and staying focused on her goals. She also sees this path as a stepping stone to future growth. “If I decide to explore corporate opportunities later in my career, I know I can navigate that with the help of this program,” she said.
Celia’s advice to others? “Take advantage of what’s offered. Publix can help you better yourself and further your career.”
