Deciding which specialty cheeses to buy, let alone what type of wines to pair with them, can be intimidating. But you don’t have to be an expert to know it makes your mouth smile.
If you’re interested in trying our specialty cheeses but don’t know where to start, stop by your Publix Deli for the cheese tasting event Friday, Oct. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., or Saturday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There, you also can learn the perfect wine pairings too.
Deli associates will welcome customers to try four different cheeses — Honey Goat, Spanish Manchego, Italian Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Morel Mushroom and Leek Monterey Jack — served on a cheese plate labeled with its complementary wine pairing. Leave with a happy tummy and brochure full of recipes, cheese attributes, wine pairings and more.
And, if your store is within the Lakeland, Jacksonville or Miami divisions and selected to participate, you may have a chance to sample these cheeses with their perfect wine pairing — New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Marques De Caseres Rioja Crianza, Davinci Chianti and Cline Zinfandel. All other locations not sampling wine will have the wine displayed (if available), and associates will discuss the pairing suggestions with customers.
With the large variety of specialty cheeses and wine Publix offers, we want to help customers make the best choices when it comes to bringing these two items together. We are excited to assist our customers with understanding the different flavors and characteristics of our cheeses so they can add them as an ingredient in their favorite meals.
